My name is Graham, and we turn now to the Gospel according to Luke, chapter 23, as Jesus is sentenced to death:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><sup>22<\/sup><\/strong>For the third time he spoke to them: \u2018Why? What crime has this man committed? I have found in him no grounds for the death penalty. Therefore I will have him punished and then release him.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><strong><sup>23<\/sup><\/strong>But with loud shouts they insistently demanded that he be crucified, and their shouts prevailed. <strong><sup>24<\/sup><\/strong>So Pilate decided to grant their demand. <strong><sup>25<\/sup><\/strong>He released the man who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, the one they asked for, and surrendered Jesus to their will.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Take a moment, and reflect: It\u2019s easy to assume we would not have acted the way the crowd did in this passage. But when we\u2019re angry, we often make choices we regret. And when we express our anger in a group setting, our feelings can build on each other. Have you ever judged someone unfairly because you were angry? How have your actions impacted other people when you\u2019ve been angry?
