font-size: 1rem;\">Dear friends<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/header>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">I\u2019m sure we\u2019re all aware that time is moving on at quite a pace.\u00a0 Many of our organisations are winding down for the Summer, our Kid\u2019s Church and YPC are looking forward to their Prize-giving during May.\u00a0 The BB have held their display and I\u2019m sure it all went extremely well.\u00a0 The leaders of all these groups will be looking forward to a well-earned break.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This month will looks as if it will bring a change in government for our country, no matter who \u2018gets in\u2019 we need to focus on the effect it will have on the poor and marginalised, we need to pray of justice and equality in all walks of life, that our children will have a quality of life no matter where they are living and educated.<\/p>\n<p>May is also when we will celebrate the birthday of Christ\u2019s church, when the Holy Spirit came upon hundreds of people and continues to move both within us and His church today.\u00a0 As I was reflecting on this I do wonder if we still rely on His help and if we are aware of the importance of His presence in our lives.\u00a0 We can do nothing without Him, that is the plain truth!\u00a0 We need the Spirit\u2019s strength, guidance, knowledge and understanding.\u00a0 Romans 8: 26 reminds us of the need for the Spirit\u2019s interceding for us in prayer, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.\u00a0 We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.<\/p>\n<p>There is so many people and situations to pray for at the moment, those who have been bereaved in our church family, those who are ill at home or in hospital, our young folks who are studying for exams, the people of Nepal who have suffered such devastation through the earthquake at the end of April.\u00a0 The Spirit knows how difficult we can find it to pray for so many but He knows what\u2019s in our hearts and our desperation for lives to be made whole and to be given what\u2019s needed in every situation.<\/p>\n<p>In recent weeks as we\u2019ve looked at the Easter story and who Jesus is.\u00a0 It is clear there is only one place to go with our concerns and that is to the foot of the Cross and lay down our burdens of prayer at the place where Jesus\u2019 life both ended and began in His resurrection.\u00a0 He is our Good Shepherd and will always protect and provide for us no matter where we wander or what is going on for us.<\/p>\n<p>I pray that we will all become more aware of the Holy Spirit in our own lives and be willing to let Him guide and direct our lives.\u00a0 Please continue to pray for our Nominating Committee as they carry out the task of finding the minister for Clincarthill, may they know the presence of the Spirit in all they do in the weeks ahead.<\/p>\n<p>Love and Blessings<\/p>\n<p>Joan<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear friends I\u2019m sure we\u2019re all aware that time is moving on at quite a pace.\u00a0 Many of our organisations are winding down for the Summer, our Kid\u2019s Church and&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":false,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","default_image_id":0,"font":"","enabled":false},"version":2}},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-645","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"jetpack_shortlink":"https:\/\/wp.me\/p8z2vw-ap","jetpack-related-posts":[{"id":578,"url":"https:\/\/www.clincarthill.org.uk\/index.php\/letter-from-our-session-clerk-jan-2015\/","url_meta":{"origin":645,"position":0},"title":"Letter from our Session Clerk &#8211;
