Letter from our Session Clerk – Jan 2015

Dear Friends in Clincarthill,

Here we are at the start of a New Year and what a busy month December was. May I extend my grateful thanks to all those who worked so hard to make the Christmas celebration special and CHRIST- filled. To Joan who conducted our services so meaningfully, for the joy of the Puppet Ministry for Music and Song and for all the food provide and served, for the decoration of the church and halls  and for all the other things often unseen – God Bless you all.

This is the start, not just of another year, but of a new journey for our family in Clincarthill. As we begin let us pray that God will guide us towards the minister He has chosen for us.

We have seen new faces coming to our church in the past month. Keep looking for them and welcoming all who come. We have seen young families come too with their babies, let them find we welcome them no matter how small into our church family. Parents can get anxious that a small child talking may be an annoyance. There is always room for prams, pushchairs and their occupants!

By the time you read this the Electoral Register will be finalised and session will have met with the Vacancy Procedure Committee of Presbytery who will offer guidance and help for the next steps in the procedure. I am hoping , however, that we will be calling a meeting of the congregation to form a Nominating Committee, by the end of January or beginning of February.  This will mark the beginning of our new journey.

God Bless

Sheila
